[ back ] Dr. Laurie Dunbar ![]() Originating from Nova Scotia, Dr. Dunbar obtained a degree in Animal Science from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 1980, a BSc from the University of Guelph in 1984, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She joined the Pierrefonds Animal Hospital in 1991 and is one of the current owners. Dr. Dunbar's interests include surgery and pain management for companion animals. She has completed her training in canine physical rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee and has been prescribing physical therapy for pets for the past six years. She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, Vets Without Borders, and the International Association of Veterinary Pain Management (IVAPM). Dr. Dunbar is actively involved in her community. She was a parent member of her local school board for five years and is a community basketball coach with a level 1 NCCP certificate. She is vice president of The West Island Lakers, a youth basketball league with over 900 members from the ages of 6 to 18. Dr. Dunbar enjoys life with her husband and their two children and three dogs. |
