This is not required when a company sells their food, but any company that is concerned about the quality of their diets will feed it to animals before putting it on the market. Some companies will also test the urine PH and do blood testing on the animals that are fed the diet. All these tests will reassure the consumer that the diet is of superior quality for their pet as opposed to simply meeting their basic needs.
